Children’s Fair in Bucksport May 5

Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Friday, April 27, 2012 at 8:55 am

BUCKSPORT — The 2012 Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition Children’s Fair will be held on Saturday, May 5, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Jewett School Gym on Bridge Street and Broadway in Bucksport.

Parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles or special friends are encouraged to bring their babies, toddlers or preschoolers for a fun-filled morning of creative play. This year’s theme, Learning Through Nature, will showcase the infinite number of learning opportunities all around us.

Exhibits and activities will be provided by the Maine Discovery Museum, College of the Atlantic, Field’s Pond Audubon Center, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, Acadia National Park, Bucksport Area Child Care Center, Maine Families, the Bucksport Police Department, Regional School Unit 25’s Coordinated School Health Program, Bucksport Home-based Child Care Providers, Bucksport Head Start, RSU 25’s kindergarten program and the Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition.

There will be lots of fun activities for young children to learn about their natural play world. Adults will learn about the variety of valuable resources and programs that are available locally and regionally for young children.

The Children’s Fair is a project of the Bucksport Bay Early Childhood Network.
