Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 9:06 am

ELLSWORTH — Downeast Audubon will present a program titled “Maine’s Mysterious Marsh Birds” on Thursday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth Unitarian Universalist Church.

Wildlife biologist Danielle D’Auria will be the speaker.

Maine is home to several species of secretive marsh birds: rails, bitterns, herons and snipe. D’Auria will discuss what makes these birds unique, why they still remain a mystery to most scientists and how to increase the chances for hearing and possibly seeing one.

Information: Leslie Clapp at 374-5012.
