Maine State Police: Joy from Impound Lot Retrieval Short-lived for Franklin Man

Written by  Mark Good Friday, April 20, 2012 at 3:22 pm

ELLSWORTH — A Franklin man apparently was a little too enthusiastic about getting his vehicle back on the road last week.

Codey Chandler, 22, was arrested April 12 on a charge of driving to endanger after a trooper spotted him doing donuts in the parking lot of a blueberry company. Chandler had just retrieved the vehicle from an impound lot across the road, police said.

Bad Check

Troopers are investigating an April 12 complaint in Deer Isle, where a resident reported receiving a bad check in return for the sale of lobsters.

According to Trooper Cliff Peterson, the Massachusetts company that purchased the lobsters stopped payment on the check.

Thefts

Two thefts were reported April 9 in Penobscot.

In one incident, two junk cars were stolen from private property. In the other, a television was taken from a summer residence.

That same day, troopers investigated burglaries at a home in Brooklin and at a seasonal home in Orland.

Items were taken Sunday from a vehicle parked in Blue Hill.
