BAR HARBOR — In conjunction with Earth Day, the League of Underwater Superheroes, a local diving club, is seeking divers and topside volunteers to clean up along the shores and under the waters of Mount Desert Island and surrounding islands on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The group also is looking for donors of goods or services. Volunteers should meet at the Bar Harbor town pier at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will be dispersed to clean-up duty. Volunteers are needed as area coordinators, for shoreline patrol, as divers, dive team tenders, bubble-watchers, boat operators, for sea creature removal from debris, data recording, video recording, and photography. Types of donations needed include food, drink, trash bags, trucks, boats, barges, and air for divers.
