MOUNT DESERT — Author and teacher Robert Klose will talk about his recent book, “Three Legged Woman And Other Excursions in Teaching,” at the Northeast Harbor Library, 1 Joy Rd., on Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m.
The book is a collection of personal reflections and insights from Mr. Klose’s time teaching at the “poorest college in America.” Mr. Klose teaches now at the University Maine at Augusta Bangor Campus.
His writing is described as “equal parts humorous and heartbreaking” as he describes students who are sometimes profoundly unfit for college but who want to change their lives.
His work has been published in the Christian Science Monitor, Newsweek, Boston Globe and Reader’s Digest. This event is free and everyone is welcome.
