EHS Players Plan 24 Hours of Tennis

Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Wednesday, April 04, 2012 at 2:10 pm

ELLSWORTH — To help fund a preseason trip to Cape Cod Tennis Camp for a week of training, Ellsworth Eagle varsity and junior varsity players will participate in “24 Hours of Tennis” on Friday, April 13, at the Ellsworth Tennis Center.

Play will be continuous on two courts donated by the center for the event, and players will be seeking direct donations or pledges on a per-set basis.

“Kids will come in on a schedule, play for two or three hours and then the next group will come in,” said Alan Toothaker, who assists with the EHS tennis program. “We anticipate a total of 25 to 30 sets being played.”

Those wishing to donate or pledge can call Toothaker at 667-4852 and leave a message, or mail a contribution to him at 100 Park St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
