CAMDEN — Two Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School wrestlers won championships and five others qualified for the upcoming state middle school meet at Saturday’s regional competition.

Taking top honors at the regional meet, in which Ellsworth finished fourth, were Connor Petros in the 131-pound weight class and Jason Montina in the 155-pound class.

Spencer Baron finished as runner-up at 145 pounds.

Placing third were Josh Wright at 96 pounds and Jameson McAlpine at 138 pounds.

Finishing fourth were Raymond Maddocks at 124 pounds and Deven Hartley-Michaud at 170 pounds.

Those wrestlers will travel to Bath for the state competition this Saturday.

The Ellsworth team, coached by Ray Kidder and assistants Pat and Corey Kidder, will continue to practice throughout the week in preparation for Saturday’s meet.
