ORONO — Hancock County athletes scored wins in seven middle and long distance races and placed first in three other events in Saturday’s Eastern Maine Indoor Track League competition at the University of Maine fieldhouse.
For the Mount Desert Island Trojans in girls’ Meet B, Nora Hubbell won the mile run in 5:46.12 and Caroline Driscoll won the two-mile run in 11:59.82.
In boys’ Meet B, Ellsworth sophomore Dan Curts won the two-mile run in 10:04.18 and combined with Derek Hawes, Evan Boudreau and Robert Looker to win the four-by-880-yard relay in 9:05.04.
For the Sumner Tigers, Taylor Lee won the boys’ mile run in 4:52.13 and Kyle Jordan was first in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 9 inches, and Dan Cox of Ellsworth won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 9.5 inches.
In boys’ meet A, MDI’s Trevor Alley won the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 7 inches.
