Written by  Hugh Bowden Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 4:48 pm

SULLIVAN — On Monday, the Sumner Tigers jumped in front of the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners early with an 11-5 lead after one period and a 21-13 edge at halftime.

But with a strong fourth quarter rally, the Mariners erased much of a 13-point Tiger lead before falling by a four-point margin.

Tylor Martin led the Tigers with 15 points with Gabe O’Brien close behind with 14 and Dillan Harmon chipping in with nine.

For the Mariners, Sam Grindle finished with 15 points, Hayden Ciomei had 13 and Tim Cormier contributed eight.
