Chronic pain is talk topic

BAR HARBOR —  Bonnie Lundquist will speak at the Food For Thought, hosted by Acadia Senior College on Friday, Jan. 27 on  “Chronic Pain: What is it? Why do I have it?” This public luncheon and lecture is part of a continuing series, held at Birch Bay Village Inn in Hulls Cove.

Ms. Lundquist will address issues surrounding chronic pain, what can be done about it, as well as opioid misuse and diversion in Maine. Ms. Lundquist is a nurse practitioner with masters’ degrees from Boston University and Simmons College. She has 41 years of professional experience, more than 20 of those years working with people with chronic pain. She taught at Husson University, and is recently retired as director of the pain program at the Maine Department of Veterans Affairs. She is currently directing the Chronic Pain Program for MDI Healthcare System. She is a member of legislative workgroup LD 1501: An Act to Reduce Opioid Over-prescription, Abuse and Diversion.
