CRANBERRY ISLES — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Dec. 31 theft of a vehicle on Great Cranberry Island.
Given the fact that the only egress from the island is by water, the motive is fairly clear-cut, said Chief Deputy Richard Bishop.
“They were joyriding,” he said.
The vehicle was recovered, basically undamaged. However, during the spree the driver reportedly dug up a ballfield.
There are suspects in the case, Chief Deputy Bishop said.
