Christiana Marie Shaw and Nathaniel Cross were married in Florida in May.

MOUNT DESERT — Christiana “Ana” Marie Shaw married Nathaniel Cross on Anna Maria Island, Fla. on May 21, 2011.
Ana is the daughter of Christine and John van Zandt of Holmes Beach and Jim and Annette Shaw of Alachua, Fla. The bride’s stepfather officiated and she was escorted by her father. Angela van Zandt, the bride’s sister, served as her attendant.
Nathaniel is the son of Mark and Laura Cross of Northeast Harbor. The groom’s best man was Kris Douglas of Bar Harbor. The couple celebrated their wedding again this fall with their friends from Maine and the groom’s extended family at an outdoor lobster feed on the shore of Somes Sound in Northeast Harbor.
Ana graduated from Manatee High School, The Florida State University and University of Miami Medical School. She completed a surgical residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, and a Surgical Oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She is a surgical oncologist and assistant professor of surgery at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
Nathaniel is a graduate of New England School of Communication and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He works for the National Hot Rod Association as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. The couple live in Gainesville.
