Trojans Wallop Eagles

Written by  Hugh Bowden Wednesday, January 04, 2012 at 4:21 pm

BLUE HILL — On Tuesday, the host GSA Eagles got off to a slow start while Caleb MacDonald scored all of his nine points in the first period to give MDI a 14-3 edge.

Aided by a pair of baskets by Jasper Adam and two driving layups by Schuyler Van der Eb, GSA cut the lead to six points midway through the second period.

But MDI went on a 14-0 run that effectively put the game away, giving the Trojans a 35-15 halftime lead.

The Trojans maintained a lead of as many as 30 points through the second half and went on to win 64-38.

Ben Walls led MDI with a game-high 13 points and Jayson Burke chipped in with 11.

Adam led the Eagles with 10 points and Nick Dillon had seven.
