BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Golden Bucks remained undefeated, racing out to an 11-2 lead and cruising to a 55-34 win over Lee Academy on Tuesday.

Senior Mindy Pye took charge early, scoring 16 of her game-high 20 points in the first half as the 5-0 Golden Bucks built a 24-12 lead.

That lead stretched to 20 points early in the third period, allowing coach Bill Tracy to make liberal use of his bench in the second half.

Bailey Blair chipped in with eight points for Bucksport, senior Shelby Redman had a strong all-around game with five points, seven rebounds, three steals and four blocks, and senior Sadie Wight contributed seven points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Sophomore Brianna Bires came off the bench to score six fourth-period points for Bucksport.

The still-winless Pandas were led by Jenna Cowan, who finished with 17 points, and Alaina Hamilton, who contributed nine.
