Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Monday, December 12, 2011 at 12:45 pm

BLUE HILL — Friends of Blue Hill Public Library will be holding a special holiday book sale on Saturday, Dec. 17, in the library’s basement “book nook.”

In addition to being open during regular library hours starting at 10 a.m., the sale will continue an hour past closing time, until 3 p.m.

The Friends of the Library holiday party starts at 2:30 that day and goes until 5:30.

To donate books that are in good condition or for more information, contact the library at 374-5515.

The public is invited to participate in the library’s play reading group on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the library. The play selected for this month is Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “The Skin of Our Teeth.”

The group welcomes inexperienced and experienced readers alike.

For more information, contact the library at 374-5515 or Michael Donahue at 374-5248 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

There are still a few days left in the library’s holiday toy drive, which will end on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Toys should be wrapped with a tag identifying if it is for a boy or a girl and the appropriate age range.

Donated gifts may be placed under the tree by the reference desk on the main floor. For more information, contact the library at 374-5515.
