Two-vehicle Collision on Route 1

BUCKSPORT — Two vehicles had a rear-end collision Dec. 1 while waiting for another vehicle to turn left onto Nicholson Avenue from Route 1, police reported.

Annamarie Bernard, 23, of Orland was driving a 2000 Buick, which struck a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle operated by Charlene Webb, 56, of Bucksport, Sgt. David Winchester said.

Webb was stopped behind a third vehicle, which was yielding to oncoming traffic while waiting to turn left onto Nicholson Avenue from Route 1.

Bernard complained of head pain and was taken to a local hospital to be checked, police said.

Burglary

Burglars broke into a Buck Street residence Nov. 29 and stole $1,300 worth of items.

Suspicious

A call about a person acting strangely at a bank last week turned out to be a man who was just “extremely tired,” police said.

Arrests and Summonses

Paul Kidder, 41, Bucksport, warrant failure to appear on a terrorizing charge.

Scott Moore, 44, Blue Hill, possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Speeding

Jeffrey Hutchinson, 20, of Burnam, speeding 60 mph in a 35-mph zone on Mast Hill Road Nov. 29.

Tami Rush, 49, Franklin, 49 mph in a 35-mph zone on Bucksmills Road Nov. 29.

John Stevens, 52, Bucksport, speeding 70 mph in a 45-mph zone on Route 46 Friday.

Nikki Manning, 19, Bucksport, speeding on River Road Dec. 1.
