“A Christmas Story” is humorist Jean Shepherd’s celebration of childhood. The only thing 9-year-old Ralphie Parker hopes to find under the tree is a Daisy Brand Red Ryder BB rifle. He doesn’t simply want it – he’s consumed with an aching desire for it. In the way, however, are bullies, freezing flagpoles, unsympathetic authorities and a certain horrifying department store Santa.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor.
