Curts is 3rd in the State

CUMBERLAND — In the boys’ Class B State Title race, Ellsworth sophomore Dan Curts placed third with a time of 16:38.43 with the Eagles placing seventh in the team scoring with 175 points.

Sophomore Frank King was 42nd for the Eagles in 18:23.53, followed by junior Kody Holmes, 47th in 18:29.27; senior Blake Pattengale, 50th in 18:37.29; sophomore Robert Looker, 52nd in 18:42.11; senior Stephen Kirby, 53rd in 18:42.41; and sophomore Brayden Beardsley, 64th in 18:57.54.

For the MDI Trojan boys, who placed 15th with 368 points, freshman William Fletcher led the way, finishing 41st in 18:22.36.

He was followed by senior Sam Sproule, 78th in 19:28.17; senior Jon Sproule, 86th in 19:42.03; sophomore Ransom Burgess, 95th in 20:07.64; freshman Ralph Magnani, 99th in 20:17.70; sophomore Andy Gallup, 102nd in 20:33.05; and freshman Ethan Craigo, 108th in 21:09.60.

Silas Eastman of Fryeburg Academy was the individual champion in 16:14.15, and Falmouth won the team Class B title with 64 points.
