CARIBOU — The sixth-seeded Eagles matched the third-ranked Vikings shot for shot with 16 each. But the scoring problems that plagued Ellsworth at times over the regular season came to the fore again Tuesday as not a single Eagle shot found the net in the 4-0 shutout.
The Vikings jumped in front in the first half on a goal by Jamie Martin and they added three more in the second half — two of them by Olivia Sleeper and the third on a penalty kick by Hannah Hebert.
For the Eagles, who closed out the season with a record of 11-5-0, goalkeeper Jessica Toothaker had eight saves.
Morgan Swan made 12 saves for the 11-3-2 Vikings.
