CALAIS — The Sumner Tigers upped their record to 12-3 and advanced to the Eastern Maine Class C quarterfinals with a 5-3 win over the Calais Blue Devils on Saturday.

Second-half goals by Gabe O’Brien and Tristan Rayner snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted the 10th-ranked Tigers to the win.

O’Brien, who has already set a new career scoring record for the Tigers, scored twice and had an assist on Saturday, pushing his season total to 31 goals.

Justin Chipman also had a pair of goals for the Tigers.

For Calais, Conor McCadden had a pair of goals, Jeremy Beers had one and Joe Mitchell had two assists.

The Tigers are slated to travel to Madawaska Wednesday to face the second-ranked Owls (11-0-2) in a Class C quarterfinal.
