BANGOR — Chelsea Ward (Homer, Alaska) posted 17 kills, a dozen digs, and three blocks to lead Maine Maritime Academy to a 3-1, North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win over Husson Wednesday evening. It was the Mariners (18-4, 4-1 NAC) eighth consecutive victory over the Eagles (14-13, 4-1 NAC) and 13th in the last 15 matches.

Husson captured the first set 25-22, but Maine Maritime rallied to take the next three, 25-15, 25-13, 25-20. Melissa Lail (Elizabeth, Colo.), the reigning NAC Player of the Week, came up with 10 kills and four aces. Jennifer Dixon (Ellicott City, Md.) also served up four aces in addition to her 29 assists. Chantal Adderley had a pair of kills and three blocks in the win.

Hannah Olstad led the Husson offense with 12 kills. Aleta Johnson had 18 assists.

The Mariners close out the NAC slate on Saturday with matches against Johnson State and Lyndon State.
