The Last Meeting: Then-junior running back Nick Bourassa ran for 156 yards and three scores, but fullback Jim Bower stole the show as Maine Maritime ran to a 42-21 victory over Westfield State. Westfield State Last Week: Westfield State forced four Bridgewater State turnovers and the Owls held on for a 10-7 victory in New England Football Conference Bogan Division action on Friday evening. Westfield State, which did not commit any turnovers, improved its overall record to 2-3 (1-1 Bogan) while Bridgewater State slipped to 2-2 and 0-2 in the divisional standings. The contest marked the first ever night game at Swenson Field.

Rende rushed for 151 yards on 23 carries (6.6 yards per rush) and found the end zone twice. It was the ninth 100-yard rushing game of Rende's career and the first time this season that he was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
