SULLIVAN — Joey Malloy and Gabe O’Brien each scored a pair of goals for the Sumner Tigers in a 5-1 win over the Bucksport Golden Bucks on Saturday.

Malloy put Sumner in front about seven minutes into the first half when he drilled a loose ball into the net.

Twenty minutes later, the Tigers struck again when Bucksport goalkeeper Ryan Grindle knocked down a shot by O’Brien, but Justin Chipman punched the rebound into the open net.

With 4:38 to go in the half, O’Brien was fouled inside the penalty area and rifled the ensuing penalty kick into the net.

O’Brien struck again about seven minutes into the second half, taking a pass from Baramee Janla, eluding to Bucksport defenders and pushing the ball past the advancing goalkeeper for a 4-0 Tiger lead.

Bucksport finally scored at the 27:38 mark of the period on a loose ball goal by Carter DeRedin.

Malloy capped the scoring at the 20:34 mark with his second tally of the day for Sumner.

Sam Smith finished with 10 saves on 14 shots in goal for the Tigers, and Grindle and Evan Seekins combined for nine saves on 18 shots for Bucksport.
