BLUE HILL — Paul Doiron, author of the Mike Bowditch series of crime novels, and C.J. Box, the New York Times best-selling author of 13 novels, including the Joe Pickett series, will read from their new books at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.
Doiron will read from his latest book, “Trespasser,” and Box will read from “Back of Beyond.” The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 30 but had to be rescheduled because of travel issues due to Hurricane Irene.
The library will also be hosting “Model Train Day” on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Eastern Maine Model Railroad Club will set up 12 track modules roughly 2 by 4 feet each and run trains owned by club members. Many of the trains will have engines and cars painted with actual Maine railroad logos, and will include both steam and diesel engines. There will be a two-track main line with side tracks and switching.
The day is being held in conjunction with an ongoing exhibit of model trains in the library’s Roland Howard Room. The exhibit is on display through November.
