OT Goal Gives Lady Eagles Win Over Trojans

Written by  Hugh Bowden Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 1:43 pm

BLUE HILL — For 80 minutes, neither the GSA Eagles nor the MDI Trojans could put the ball into the net.

But just 15 minutes into overtime, Charlotte Reither took a pass from Abby Nowland and punched the ball into the goal for a 1-0 GSA win on Saturday.

The game was a defensive battle throughout with the Eagles limiting the Trojans to just two shots, both of which were stopped by goalkeeper Hannah Billings.

For MDI in goal, Hannah Shaw had six saves on seven GSA shots.
