BUCKSPORT — Scoring almost at will, the Bucksport Golden Bucks cruised to a 52-6 win over the Calais-Woodland Silverados on Friday at Carmichael Field.

With the Silverados opting for a no-punt offense, the Golden Bucks repeatedly stifled Calais-Woodland attempts for fourth downs and took over the ball deep in Silverado territory.

The result was one short-yardage touchdown after another for Bucksport.

Jon Geagan raced 82 yards untouched for a touchdown on the opening kickoff for the Bucks.

And before the game was four minutes old, Bucksport had a 20-0 lead.

Chris Powell ran for two touchdowns and scored another on an 11-yard pass from quarterback Mike Cummings.

Shawn Smith scored twice, once on a 16-yard run and another on a 24-yard pass from Cummings.

Josh Gray caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Matt Stewart and added four extra point kicks, and Billy Desantis rushed for a TD.

Dominic Martorano had the lone touchdown for the Silverados on a two-yard run with just seconds to go in the game.

Cummings passed for 35 yards and rushed for 16 more, Smith had 29 yards rushing and Asher Bowden had 24 yards rushing for the Bucks.

Stewart also completed two passes for 24 yards as Bucksport made liberal use of its backup players.

Defensively, Bucksport’s first team defense allowed Calais-Woodland just 10 yards of total offense through the first three quarters.

The Golden Bucks will host the Orono Red Riots Friday at 7 p.m. at Carmichael Field.
