BAR HARBOR — Girls’ softball coach Jeff Chamberlain has led teams from both the Conners-Emerson school and the Acadian Little League to championships this year. Now, he hopes to be part of the formation of an islandwide softball dynasty.

Chamberlain’s Acadian Little League softball team defeated Hancock 9-5 in the championships to finish 9-1 on the season. And the Conners-Emerson softball team won the Coastal League Championship game over Deer Isle 14-7 and finished the season 12-1.

It has been at least five years since MDI won the title of minor league champion.

“Our record and the championship win was well-deserved. Ultimately we had a few more weapons than Hancock did and it proved to work in our favor,” said Chamberlain.
