Books N’ Blooms, the first ever Winter Harbor garden tour to benefit the town’s library, will be held July 16.
WINTER HARBOR —Whether designed and executed by professionals, or the result of one’s own dusty, painstaking work, gardens are a reflection of their owners’ sensibilities.
Most often they engage or soothe. At times a flower garden can do both.
The public will have an opportunity to take in a variety of these perspectives with the Winter Harbor Public Library’s first ever garden tour July 16.
The “Books ‘N Blooms” tour encompasses six private gardens in the coastal community, from the well manicured to the more riotous.
Jacqueline Weaver covers the eastern Hancock County towns of Lamoine through Gouldsboro as well as Steuben in Washington County. A New Hampshire native, she has vacationed in Maine for 25 years and has been with The American for three.
