DEER ISLE — A first-inning double by Kaitlyn Beaudoin was the only hit for the East Grand Vikings as Sydney Ouzts pitched a one-hitter and struck out 18 batters as the Mariners rolled to an 11-0 quarterfinal win on Thursday in Deer Isle.
Ouzts walked just two batters and got plenty of offensive help from her teammates in downing the seventh-seeded Vikings.
Amber Jones had a two-run double and and an RBI single, Abby Grindle doubled with two RBI, and Chelsea Brown and Janelle Ciomei each drove in two runs with a pair of singles for the second-ranked Mariners.
