Minutemen End Eagles Season

Written by  Hugh Bowden Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:26 pm

BLUE HILL — The Stearns Minutemen came up with three first-inning runs, two of them unearned, against GSA righthander Nick Kane and made them stand up for their quarterfinal win on Thursday.

Brandon Bouchard drove in the first run with a bases-loaded single and the ball rolled past the left fielder, allowing a second run to score. The third came home on a GSA error.

Bouchard and John Dumas each had a pair of singles off Kane, who allowed just five hits in his complete game effort.

For the Minutemen, Max Bouchard also allowed just five hits, including a triple and a single by Kane and a double by Ben Olivari.

GSA closed out its season with a record of 10-6-1.
