ELLSWORTH — The 12-0 and top-ranked Ellsworth Eagle boys will have home court advantage when they face off against the eighth-ranked Rockland Tigers in an Eastern Maine Class B tennis quarterfinal Thursday at 4 p.m.

The third-ranked Ellsworth girls, with a record of 11-1, will host the sixth-ranked Rockland Tigers Friday at 3 p.m. in a girls’ quarterfinal.

The MDI Trojan girls, who finished second in Class B with an 11-1 record, will host the seventh-ranked John Bapst Crusaders Thursday at 4 p.m. in quarterfinal action.

In Eastern Maine Class C, both the George Stevens Academy Eagle boys and girls finished atop the standings and both teams must wait and see when they host their quarterfinal matches.

The 9-3 GSA girls await the winner of Thursday’s playoff between number eight Van Buren (5-3) and number nine Calais (7-5).

The 10-2 GSA boys will face the winner of a playoff between number eight Van Buren (3-5) and number nine Madawaska (3-9)

The only other Hancock County team advancing to post-season play is the Sumner Tiger girls.

They finished seventh in Class C with a 5-7 record and are slated to host the number 10 Lee Academy Pandas (6-6) today at 4 p.m. in Sorrento.
