Eagles Handle Riots

BLUE HILL — The GSA boys downed the Orono Red Riots 4-1 on Wednesday.

It was Johnny Xue over Gustav Mansson 8-6 and Jasper Adam over Alex Caballero 8-6 in singles.

In doubles, Will Brokaw and Roy Xu bested Tannar Francis and Conor McKaig 8-5, and Jason Gao and James Chen beat Anton Klose and Zack Caron 8-5.

In the lone win for the Red Riots, Brewster Cherkis downed Alexander Heilner 8-2 at third singles.

In the GSA girls’ 5-0 win over Orono, it was Southerd Steer over Giulia Papini 8-2, Tierney Hally over Virginia Lopez-Anido 9-8 (7-4) and Charlotte Reiter over Hanna Renaldo 8-3 in singles.

In doubles, it was Ramsay Williamson and Maddie Theoharidis over Ruby Wallace-Ewing and Lillie Mayfield 8-1, and Grace Bugbee and Hannah Dietz over Rachel Balaban and Veronica Wallace-Ewing 8-4.
