Fluker Gets Three Victories For Ellsworth Eagle Boys

BANGOR — The Ellsworth Eagle boys dominated the running events at Saturday’s eight-team outdoor track and field meet at Cameron Stadium.

But despite four first places and four runner-up finishes, along with several other scoring efforts, the Eagles had to settle for third places, finishing well behind the Bangor Rams and the Hampden Broncos, in the competition.

Team scores were Bangor 200, Hampden 173.50, Ellsworth 93, Calvary Chapel 38, Washington Academy 31, Dexter 31, Bucksport 15.5 and Piscataquis 8.

For the Eagles, sprinter Chrisshawn Fluker had a banner day, winning the 100-meter dash in 12.04 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 23.88 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 52.87 seconds.

Derek Hawes also finished first in the 1,600-meter run for the Eagles.

Runner-ups for Ellsworth were Dakota Holmes in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.37, Dan Curts in the 3,200-meter run in 10:23.96, the foursome of Nate Rockwood, Maks Grover, Matthew Fendl and Logan Leathers in the four-by-100-meter relay in 48.61 seconds, and the foursome of Blake Pattengale, Robert Looker, Holmes and Curts in the four-by-800-meter relay in 9:18.66.

Also scoring for Ellsworth:

Frank King was third in the 3,200-meter run in 11:28.42.

Jake Jordan was third in the triple jump with a distance of 36 feet, 6.5 inches, and fourth in the 200-meter dash in 25.51 seconds.

Pattengale was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 55.70 seconds.

Leathers was sixth in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches.

Scoring for Bucksport:

Casey Wardwell was runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 6.5 inches.

Paul Fitzgerald was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 122 feet, 5 inches.

Mitchel Marks was fifth in the pole vault with a height of 8 feet, 6 inches, and combined with Jonathan Geagon, Eric Davis and Silas Fitzgerald for fifth in the four-by-400-meter relay in 4:10.45.

Brianne Dunn and Aleta Looker of the Eagles and Sina Fehr and Taylor Zeigler-Miller of Bucksport came away with first places in the girls’ meet.

For Ellsworth:

Looker won the 400-meter dash in 1:03.17 and placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.82 seconds.

Dunn won the 1,600-meter run in 5:53.67.

Lauren Barkhouse was third in the pole vault at 7 feet, 6 inches.

The foursome of Brooke Dunn, Sanna Norwood, Barkhouse and Mallory Nightengale was third in the four-by-800-meter relay in 12:05.05.

Jamie Ford was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:49.05.

Taylor White was fourth in the long jump at 14 feet, 3.75 inches; fourth in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, 8 inches; and sixth in the discus with a throw of 64 feet, 3 inches.

The foursome of Casey Gustafson, White, Marina Gray and Lainey Cohen was fourth in the four-by-100-meter relay in 1:00.75.

Gray was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 21.56 seconds.

For Bucksport:

Fehr won the 3,200-meter run in 14:05.78.

Zeigler-Miller won the javelin with a throw of 83 feet, 9 inches, and was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 24 feet, 4.5 inches.

The foursome of Britney Eberhardt, Rachele Daley, Kaylie Trasko and Molly Hunt was third in the four-by-100-meter relay in 57.37 seconds.

Hunt, Katy Jones, Trasko and Daley combined for third in the four-by-400-meter relay in 4:53.07.

Hunt also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 14.46 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 29.53 seconds.

Avalon Langevin was fourth in the triple jump at 28 feet, 11 inches.

Nelly Winship was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:49.51 and fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 6:05.87.

Lisa Tapley was fifth in the high jump at 4 feet, 2 inches.

In the team competition, it was Bangor 247, Hampden 164, Ellsworth 55, Bucksport 49, Dexter 34, Piscataquis 18, Calvary Chapel 9 and Washington Academy 1.
