Lady Eagles Finish Fourth at Bangor

BANGOR — In a nine-team meet at Bangor on Friday, the George Stevens Academy boys placed seventh with 26 points.

Junior Ben Plohr finished as runner-up in the 800-meter run in 2:07.87, just a tenth of a second behind winner Matt Guiod of Mattnawcook, and in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.56 seconds.

The GSA foursome of Ben Avery, Philip Shaheen, Loriman Looke and Nate Cole was third in the four-by-800-meter relay in 10:25.56, and Avery combined with Sam Eley, Abraham Ziner and Paul Ferreira for fourth in the four-by-100-meter relay in 4:06.75.

In the girls’ meet for GSA, Liana Arquette placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 76 feet, 2 inches.

Lucy Jakub was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in 57.18 seconds, and combined with Vika Grindle, Brooke Laprise and Amanda Moir for fifth in the four-by-400-meter relay in 5:12.97.

Miranda Blodgett was sixth in the high jump for GSA, clearing 4 feet, 2 inches.
