ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth got five innings of one-hit pitching from Thomas Sawyer and Delbert Beckwith as the Eagles downed the Sumner Tigers 11-1 on Thursday.
The Eagles jumped on Sumner starter Zac Simmons for six runs in the first inning, then added two more in the second and three in the third.
Jordan Carter drove in three runs with a triple and two singles, Cote Card drove in three more with a triple and a single and David Barnard had a three-run double in Ellsworth’s 10-hit attack.
Joey Malloy singled to drive in Aaron Leighton with Sumner’s lone run in the second inning.
