DEER ISLE — The visiting Patriots jumped out to an 8-3 lead, then held off the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners in an 8-6 win on Monday at Deer Isle.
The Mariners managed just three hits — a solo home run and a single by Anika Powers and a single by Britnie Jones.
Erica Hutchins came on in relief of Powers in the pitcher’s circle and didn’t allow a hit in three innings, but the damage already was done.
