CASTINE — The Maine Maritime Academy Men's Soccer team dropped to 2-1-1 on the season, falling to the visiting Bengals from the University of Maine at Fort Kent 4-0 in a non-conference matchup Sunday afternoon. UMFK outshot MMA 28-5 in the victory and improves to 5-0 on the season.

The Bengals started the scoring in the 9th minute when Andre Anderson (Manchester, Jamaica) gathered a corner kick from Jermaine West (New Baalbec, Jamaica) and flicked the ball past the keeper to give UMFK the 1-0 lead. The Bengals struck again in the 22nd minute when Jermaine West finished a cross off the foot of Keith Williams (Trinidad and Tobago) and tucked the ball in the open net for the 2-0 advantage. The Clippers ended the half with an own goal that deflected off of an MMA defender, giving UMFK the 3-0 halftime lead.

The Bengals picked up the second half scoring in the 49th minute on a Amine El Moumen (Casablanca, Morocco) goal from Keith Williams to go up 4-0.

MMA keeper Jeff Butland (Cumberland) took the loss for MMA making three saves in 43 minutes of action. Randy Bartlett (Lincoln, NH) made seven saves in the loss. David Girouard (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) collected the win for UMFK making four saves on five shots.
