Bucks Fall to Huskies

Written by  Hugh Bowden Tuesday, September 07, 2010 at 1:26 pm

BUCKSPORT — On Friday night, the Bucksport Golden Buck defense had no answer for Craig Reazor and the Maine Central Institute Huskies, who rolled to a 32-12 win at Carmichael Field.

Reazor got things started for the Huskies in the second period when he returned a blocked field goal attempt 84 yards for a touchdown, then scored again on a six-yard run into the end zone.

Bucksport finally broke the scoring ice in the third period when Gerald Williams pulled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mike Cummings.

But MCI put two more touchdowns on the board for a 25-6 lead as Trey Vintinner raced 85 yards on a kickoff return, and Reazor reeled off another scoring run, this one of 23 yards.

The Golden Bucks added a touchdown in the fourth period as Williams capped a scoring drive with a four-yard run, but the Huskies put the icing on the cake with an eight-yard touchdown pass from Reazor to Ryan Gamblin.

Bucksport will travel to Millinocket to face the Stearns Minutemen at 7 p.m. Friday.
