BANGOR — The Zone 1 tournament is slated to begin Thursday with two play-in games at the Winkin Complex at Husson University in Bangor.
Number four Lincoln and number five Motor City of Bangor will play at 4 p.m. and the 10-6 Acadians will face the sixth-seeded Hampden-Newport Riverdogs at approximately 7 p.m.
The winners will advance to the four-team double-elimination phase of the tournament on Friday.
Number two Brewer will face the highest-seeded play-in survivor at 4 p.m. and top-ranked Bangor will go against the other play-in winner at 7 p.m.
The tournament will continue through Sunday with the Zone 1 champion advancing directly to the state tournament that opens July 28 at the Wainwright Complex in South Portland.
The Zone 1 runner-up will face the Zone 5 runner-up in a play-in game on Saturday, July 24, at 2:30 p.m. at the South Portland complex.
