
ELLSWORTH — Senior shortstop Brad Folmer of the Ellsworth Eagles has been named Class B Player of the Year and Tim Nason of the Bucksport Golden Bucks pitcher of the Year by the Penobscot Valley Conference.
Folmer helped lead the 14-5 Eagles to the Eastern Maine Class B quarterfinals, and Nason has been a key factor in helping the Golden Bucks advance to the Class B championship game.
Ten other Hancock County players also earned PVC Class B baseball honors.
Named first-team all-stars were pitcher Andrew Hodge and catcher Jordan Carter of Ellsworth, second baseman Peter Logue and outfielder Devin Young of the Mount Desert Island Trojans and outfielder Tyler French of the Golden Bucks.
Earning second-team honors were pitcher John Carlin, first baseman Ross Saunders and third baseman Seth Cote of Ellsworth, outfielder Tyler McAllian of Bucksport and utility player Caleb McDonald of the Trojans.
