Dr. Donald Michael Ahern is pleased to announce the wedding of his daughter, Jessica Anne Ahern, to Michael James Christopher Gavelis, son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Colleen Gavelis, who reside in Calgary, Alberta.
The couple were married Saturday, May 22, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Father Gilbert Bertrand performed the ceremony. A black tie reception followed at the Prince George Hotel.
The couple are both graduates of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where they met in their first year of study. They both graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in biology. The bride is keeping her last name and is currently pursuing a degree in law. The groom is in his final year of study at the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. He intends to join the practice of Ellsworth Bucksport Dental Associates in July 2011.
