ELLSWORTH — A scoreless second period proved to be the undoing for the Eagles as they fell to the Old Town Coyotes 55-43 on Thursday at Ellsworth.
Ellsworth led 15-13 after one period but the Coyotes combined tough defense with a stellar night offensively (48 percent from the floor) to take a 24-15 halftime lead and make it stand up the rest of the way.
The Coyotes also took advantage at the foul line, connected on 21 of 27 shots, including 17 of 22 in the final period.
For the Eagles, Andrew Austin had nine points and six rebounds, Brad Folmer added seven points and Ryan Petros and Thomas Sawyer had six each.
