School vacation is the week of Feb. 15 through Feb. 19 and organizations islandwide are teaming up to offer many activities.

Camp Beech Cliff, Harbor House, the MDI YMCA, Neighborhood House and Summer Festival of the Arts are collaborating to bring Mount Desert Island youth a variety of activities. There will be an outdoor skating party and an indoor skating trip to Bangor (Harbor House), art projects galore (SFOA), two days of outdoor/indoor camp fun (Camp Beech Cliff), a movie with s’mores (Neighborhood House), and sledding and swimming (YMCA)! Space is limited for many of these activities, so be sure to sign up well in advance for each one. Here are the schedule and contacts for registration:

Skating Party at Chris’s Pond – Tuesday, Feb. 16, noon to 2 p.m.

Meet at Harbor House at 11:30 a.m. and head over to Chris’s Pond for skating, hockey, hot cocoa, snacks and a bonfire. Then head back to the Harbor House Underground for movies, Wii, darts, Phase 10 and other fun and games. Free. Call Harbor House to register: 244-3713.

Trip to Great Skates in Bangor – Wednesday, Feb. 17, noon to 6 p.m.

Meet at your drop-off location at noon and head to Bangor for a fun-filled day at Great Skates, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; skating, games, arcade, laser tag. Pack a lunch or buy lunch at Great Skates. Cost: $15.00. Call Harbor House to register: 244-3713.

Mini-day of SFOA – Tuesday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Open for students in third through seventh grades; space is limited to 24.

Summer Festival of the Arts will be hosting this mini-camp at Harbor House in Southwest Harbor. The day will be divided between Film and Video Production and a visual arts period, and will end with a premier showing of student videos. February Vacation Camp at Camp Beech Cliff – Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 17 & 18, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Open to students in second through sixth grades; space is limited to 30 (first come, first served). Join Mike Duffy, camp director Kevin and a couple of other leaders for arts and crafts, climbing wall, sports and games, nature, outdoor living skills! S’more than Just a Movie – Thursday, Feb. 18, 1 p.m. at the Neighborhood House.

All ages welcome. Join us for an afternoon movie on the big screen in the Great Hall. In addition to freshly popped theater-style popcorn, we’ll also take a break at intermission and give everyone a chance to toast their own s’mores in our large fireplace. Free. Sled n’ Swim – Friday, Feb. 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MDI YMCA.

For children ages 6 to 12. Bring warm outdoor clothes, your own tube/sled and swimsuit, indoor shoes for the gym, lunch, and snacks. The tentative schedule is 9 a.m. check-in and snack at MDI YMCA; 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. sledding at Kebo; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. lunch at the YMCA; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. free swim; 1:30 to 3 p.m. movie or open gym.
