BUCKSPORT — Ellsworth added three more wins to its record on Saturday but came up short in a match against the host Bucksport Golden Bucks.
Bucksport won eight of the 10 head-to-head contests on the mat for a 40-15 victory.
For the Golden Bucks, Alex Brown pinned Gina Southhivong at 103 pounds, Taylor Miller pinned Sarah Merrill at 130 pounds, Dale Sweet pinned Katie Ford at 135 pounds, Jacob Stewart pinned Ben Wildes at 140 pounds, Jordan Fogg scored a decision over Dakota Jewett at 145 pounds, River Robertson won a major decision over Michael Philippon at 171 pounds, Chris Powell scored a decision over Josh Fowler at 189 pounds and Tyler Hawksley pinned Nathan Tracy at 285 pounds.
For Ellsworth, Dakota Hellum pinned Mitchell Marks at 160 pounds and Jared Sargent scored a decision over Damon Klinedinst at 215 pounds.
Winning on the mat for the Eagles in a 46-18 victory over the John Bapst Crusaders were Wildes, Fowler and Sargent by pins and Hellum by a major decision.
Wildes, Jewett and Tracy pinned their opponents and Hellum won a major decision in Ellsworth’ 64-0 win over Calvary Chapel.
In a 54-18 victory over Mattanawcook Academy for the Eagles, Wildes, Hellum and Tracy won by pins.
Bucksport also claimed a 51-12 win over John Bapst.
For the Golden Bucks, Miller, Stewart, Powell and Klinedinst won by pins and Sweet won by decision.
