LINCOLN — The Ellsworth Eagles battled the host Mattanawcook Academy Lynx on even terms through the first period on Wednesday.

But for the rest of the way, offense proved difficult to come by for the Eagles, who managed just three points in the second period, six in the third and six in the fourth as the Lynx rolled to a 61-27 win.

Mattanawcook went off and left the Eagles in the second quarter, pouring in 21 points for the period and taking a 34-15 halftime lead.

Jessica Fortin scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Taylor Hawkins had 18 points for the Lynx.

Sarah Stanley had nine points to lead the Eagles.
