DEER ISLE — The Mariners and the Eagles battled to a double-overtime 1-1 tie on Wednesday.

Richelle Kane put GSA in front less than 10 minutes into the first half when she got loose for a shot from the 18-yard line that found the net.

The Eagles made that lead stand up through the first half, but Meaghan Robinson knotted the score less than three minutes into the second half on an assist from Paige Rollins.

The game was largely a defensive battle, with GSA goalkeeper Hannah Van der Eb making two saves on just four Mariner shots, and DI-Stonington goalie Chelsea Brown coming up with six stops on seven shots.
