ELLSWORTH — Walkers, cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), community leaders, team captains and dedicated workers are all needed to make the American Cancer Society Relay For Life a reality in Hancock County.
The next volunteer committee meeting for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in Ellsworth to work on planning the event designed to raise funds and awareness of the fight against cancer in Hancock County.
Relay For Life is a fund-raising event that allows participants from all walks of life — including patients, medical support staff, corporations, civic and other organizations and community volunteers — to celebrate, remember and join together in the fight against cancer.
Relay For Life is a team event where participants walk around a track relay-style overnight. Teams will gather at Ellsworth Middle School on June 5 to show their support.
