BAR HARBOR — Seeing athletic talent graduate is never easy for high school coaches. After devoting so much time and effort in developing a player’s skill, it is akin to watching one’ child leave home for the wide-open world.

Mount Desert Island High School graduated eight seniors from the tennis team this year, leaving it with a moderate amount of rebuilding next year.
Overall the tennis team had a great year and a bright future. “I can’t say enough about the girls’ team. After being a 500 team last year they did much better than I thought,” said Coach Rowell. “It shows that they put in a ton of time, did everything I asked, and it showed. They are going to be solid for years to come because some of my eighth through 15th players have fallen in love with the game,” he said. “The boys, we have got a lot coming up as well.”
