Maine State Police: Trooper Investigates Report of Possible Abuse

ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Trooper Tom Pickering checked on the well-being of a Deer Isle woman May 26 after getting a call from the woman’s daughter-in-law, who is concerned that a caregiver may be abusing the woman.

Pickering has referred the situation to the Maine Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services and is continuing his investigation.

Burglary

Burglars stole two jars full of change containing $300 from an unlocked Brooklin residence May 26. Police are investigating.

A pool cue and a carton of Marlboro cigarettes were stolen from a vehicle in Blue Hill May 28.

Criminal Mischief

Someone complained that a headstone at a Cherryfield cemetery had been spray painted May 28. Police said this is an ongoing feud between relatives of the deceased and it is the third time the headstone has been painted.

Theft

An 8-foot Fisher snowplow is missing from a Unionville Road property in Steuben.

Arrests and Summonses

Clyde Danico, 44, Eastbrook, Ellsworth District Court warrant failure to pay fines for operating after suspension.

Uriah D. Clise, 25, Michigan, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Amy Ciarcia, 33, Steuben, OUI and operating after suspension.
