AUGUSTA — The Legislative Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry voted 12-0 Thursday afternoon to recommend to the Maine Senate confirmation of William H. Beardsley of Ellsworth as the new Commissioner of Conservation.

With unanimous vote of those present - Senator Schnieder of Penobscot County was absent - approval of Dr. Beardsley by the full Senate is perfunctory.
